We are very happy to share the Real Weddings Magazine editorial on Amber & Tyler’s Destination Wedding in Mexico. It was a pleasure working on this destination wedding and making it elegant and glamorous. At Forever True Wedding Planning and Design we plan Local and Destination Weddings which you can read more on below.
There are two kinds of weddings, according to Tara Thorp, principal planner with Forever True Wedding Planning and Design. There are local weddings, which are about the couple, and then there are destination weddings, which are about the guests. “Destination weddings are more about the romance of the location, not necessarily about the location itself,” says Tara. One challenge with getting the elegance and glam that Amber wanted was the uncertainty of vendors in Mexico. To get around that, Tara brought everything she could from Vancouver. “I brought the paper and stationery, even the linens. Basically, if I could get it in a tote-bag, it came with me,” says Tara.

For several reasons, our favorite season is the summer season! Not only do June, July and August bring the sunshine, cute dresses and water sports but they also bring our favorite thing, Weddings! We are so excited to be welcoming our favorite L.A. based frozen yogurt shop Pinkberry to Canada. Even though we haven’t had the warmest summer, once you try a world famous Pinkberry, you will be crawling back in a snowstorm to get more of this stuff. Not only is Pinkberry a delicious healthier version of ice cream but also sinfully addictive!
Last week I sat down with Ken Thicke, the Mastermind behind Pinkberry in all of Western Canada. I was able to ask him a few questions about himself and this amazing product that he has decided to bring to us lucky Canadians.
FT: We are so excited to hear that Pinkberry is coming to Vancouver! Can you tell us a little bit about the company and where we will be able to find it?
KT: Pinkberry reinvented the frozen yogurt category when it launched in West Hollywood, CA, in January 2005. Today it is the most talked about, best tasting, premium-frozen yogurt, made with high-quality fresh ingredients. From store design to exceptional customer service to irresistible flavors and toppings, Pinkberry provides a social experience that indulges the senses
We are the number one tart frozen yogurt brand, and will open its doors in West Vancouver on July 21, 2011. The newest Pinkberry location at D2, 860 Main Street in Park Royal Village marks the arrival of the first Pinkberry in Canada. The West Vancouver location will be serving Pinkberry’s six distinctive flavors: the Signature Original flavor, a sweet and tart yogurt with a refreshing finish. Pomegranate, a bold and tangy flavor made with 100 percent California-grown pure pomegranate juice. Coconut, smooth and subtle, made with real coconut puree for a fresh and cool finish. Our rich and indulgent Chocolate flavor. Mango, a fruity and light flavor made with authentic Alphonso mango puree for a soothing finish, and Watermelon, a crisp and refreshing flavor perfect for summer.
FT: Why did you choose to get involved with Pinkberry?
KT: I wanted to be part of something special. Pinkberry provided that unique product that is in a leadership position within the category. The leadership team that has been assembled along with the incredible Directors of the board and Franchisee partners worldwide is second to none and I am extremely proud to be part of such an amazing and talented group of leaders.
FT: What are your favorite Pinkberry toppings?
KT: I am partial to primarily the fresh cut fruits such as Strawberries, Pineapple, Backberries and Mango. Every now and again a little Captain Crunch adds a different texture, and quite enjoyable.
FT: Will we be able to hire Pinkberry to cater private events?
KT: Yes! Pinkberry offers many different ways of enjoying our product. From curbside to delivery to full catering. If you have a special event, office party or wedding, we would love to be part of it and ensure it is a special day.
FT: Who is the best person to contact if we want more information?
KT: You can contact the store or email me at Pinkberry.firstname.lastname@example.org
FT: What can we expect from Pinkberry in the near future?
KT: You can expect a one of a kind product, in a contemporary environment with the friendliest staff in the business. We will be continuing our expansion plans to bring our product to neighborhood near you.
We are especially excited about the possibility of brining you a customized Pinkberry experience to your Weddings!!! Make sure that you stop by Canada’s first Pinkberry store sometime this summer. We guarantee that you will love it as much as we do!
